Cutting boards must be maintained to reduce warping and splitting.
All cutting boards are treated with oils to keep moisture locked in to prevent drying.
There are a lot of different products out there that work well and some are pricey, choose one preferably with bees wax. A tried and true product may be in your home now and that is mineral oil, this should be done at least every six months or more depending on the usage.
Always hand wash with soap and water afterand never, never in the dishwasher.
Never put vegetable oil on the board as this will spoil and cause an odor that is not pleasant.
